Age 88, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, in at Genesys Convalescent Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral will take place 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Martin Funeral Home, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Reverend Jan Engler will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Contributions can be directed to Salvation Army. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Donald was born November 21, 1926, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Ralph and Lillian (Freeman) Middleton. He served for the United States Army as private from 1944 to 1946. He was united in marriage on October 10, 1953, to Clarissa Sampson. After, he would work for General Motors Fisher Body as a Die-Maker for 33 years. Donald belonged to the Davison Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4087 and U.A.W. Local #1292. He enjoyed crosswords, watching television and metal working. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory are two children: Nena and husband, Chris Gibbs, Mark and wife, Carolyn Middleton; sister-in-law: Malvina Middleton, five grandchildren: Paul, Jessica, Marc, Christine, and Clarissa; two great-grandchildren, Nena and Paul Jr.; great great-grandchild, Zachary; family member, Johnny May; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Ralph and sister, Dorothy. Family would like to extend a thank you to Maple Woods Manor, Genesys Convalescent Center, and Homewood Village.
