age 92, of Mt. Morris died on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Funeral service will take place 10:30 am Monday, March 3, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor Jack Dowden will officiate with private burial at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm and on Monday, from 9:00 am until time of service at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Donald was born February 1, 1922, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Maude (Wilson) Hemingway. He and Gladys Sellers were united in marriage on February 7, 1942. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air force during World War II. Donald worked for the Genesee County Herald as a printer for many years. He was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory are two children, Sandy and husband, John Nierste and David and wife Sharon A. Hemingway; four grandchildren, Elisabeth "EB" Nierste, Jeff and wife, Trisha Hemingway, Brad and wife, Amanda Hemingway and Matt and wife, Chantel Hemingway; four great-grandchildren, Anna, Sierra, Sydney and Jensen Hemingway. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys; and brother, Wilson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Staff at Grand Rapids Home for Veterans for their care and support.
