Donald Daniel

Age 70, of Mt. Morris, died May 8, 2024, at McLaren-Flint with his family by his side. A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Burial to follow at Thetford Township Cemetery. Donald’s family will be present to receive friends from 3:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Memorial contributions may be considered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Donald “Donny” was born in Flint on July 8, 1953, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlus and Mildred (Wright) Daniel. Educated locally, he attended Clio High School and graduated with the Class of 1971. After graduation, Donny began his career working at General Motors-Buick Division as a Technician for 22 years, until his retirement in 1998. Donny was active in many sports from the time he was in high school until after his graduation. He was a real athlete and played basketball as well as softball on a men’s league for the UAW, shooting pool and playing shuffleboard. There wasn’t a sport that he tried that he didn’t excel at. Donny not only enjoyed playing sports, he was also an avid watcher of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, as well as watched the NCAA matches. Donny enjoyed playing cards like Euchre, online poker, and KENO. Donny was a very social person and loved to be around his friends and community, but especially his family. He was the kindest most loving soul you would ever meet and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish Donny’s memory are his brothers: Arlus Daniel, Terry and wife, Paula Daniel, and Teddy Daniels; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Donny was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: Dewey and Martha Daniels and Ella and Jeptha Wright; siblings: Danny Daniels, and Brenda Mills.
