Dona Lee Lovelady

Age 75, died on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care in Burton. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Jason Crum officiating with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Dona’s family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2024; from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm; and on Wednesday, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be considered to LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dona was born on March 16, 1949, in Flint, Michigan; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lane and Jaunita (Shipman) Lovelady, Sr. Educated locally, Dona graduated from Genesee High School with the class of 1968. Dona worked for the Genesee School District as the lunchroom supervisor for 34 years as well as a dispatcher for Genesee Twp. Police Department for 17 years before retiring. In her free time, Dona enjoyed traveling to Sault Ste. Marie to watch the ships pass by, and spending weekends in Tawas during the summer.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Duane Lovelady; brother, John Lane and wife, Sharon Lovelady, Jr.; nephew, Chad and wife, Amie Lovelady; nieces: Shannon and husband, Anthony Compeau, Rachel and husband, Will Lerette; the Mannor family; many other family members and special friends. 

Dona was preceded in death by her parents.
