Dolores Holevar

Age 83, of Mount Morris, died Monday, January 23, 2017, at Hurley Medical Center. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Fr. Dave Harvey officiating with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer. Dolores’ family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00 am until the time of Mass at 12:00 Noon. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to a charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dolores was born June 26, 1933, in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aage and Hertha (Desens) Christensen. She married Carl Holevar on March 3, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Dolores was a long-time member of St. Mary Catholic Church, she was active with the Altar Society for several years, a long-time member of the Suncrest Auxiliary, a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie (FOE) 2427, in Lapeer. She was also involved in setting up the Bunch Elementary School Library in Flint. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, painting ceramics, and raising money for the American Cancer Society. Left to cherish her memory, husband Carl Holevar; children: Robert (Mary) Britt III, Cheryl (Wayne) Walker, Daniel (Betty) Britt, and Steven (Sue) Britt; sisters: Audrey, and Karen; brother Mel; brother-in-law Bob; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Robert F. Britt II, son Gordon, second husband Marshall Smith, brother Herb, and her sisters Sharon, and Ruth.
