Age 75, died Saturday, February 6, 2016, at her home in Grand Blanc. Praise to the Lord for her blessed life. She was a loving Christian mother, grandmother, relative, and friend. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am, Friday, February 12, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd. in Grand Blanc. Diane’s family will be present to receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Service – Grand Blanc, on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and again from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday morning, Diane will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Pastor Todd Biermann will officiate. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Faith Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Adopt-a-Pet. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Diane was born in Flint, Michigan, on April 11, 1940, and had been a resident of Genesee County her entire life. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Grand Blanc, Michigan; graduated from Flint Central High School in 1958, and Mott Community College in 1993, with an accounting degree. Diane was employed at Genesee County Community Mental Health for 18 years in the Information Systems Department, retiring in the year 2000. She previously worked at AC Spark Plug in the Engineering Department for five years and served on the Genesee County Election Board. She kept herself informed about local and world affairs and voted in every election. Diane enjoyed her home and family, Bible studies, gospel music, animals, and crocheting and knitting for the Kool (Knit out of love) program at Faith Lutheran Church. Left to cherish her memory are: son and daughter-in-law, Bruce A. and Shantel Trevithick; daughter and son-in-law, Bethany K. and Scott Saathoff; grandsons Matthew and Michael Trevithick; brother and sister-in-law, James and Rene’ Swain; nieces and their families, Michelle Swain, Jennifer Swain, and Nicole Beaver; many cousins and their families; long-time friends: Sherri and Dallas Bond, Shirley and Phil Walls, Barbara Williamson and Sandy Johnston, and many others, including the CPR birthday ladies and the Kool ladies. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Florence Swain, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
