Dewey Richard Beehn, age 81, of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 11:30 am, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Kevin Dixson will officiate with burial to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Tuesday, from 10:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dewey was born January 31, 1937, in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Howard Martin and Evelyn Nellie (Lawe) Beehn. He and Carol Howard were united in marriage on June 12, 1959, in Davison. Dewey proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Dewey returned home to work as a laborer at General Motors for many years, until his retirement in 1993. In his free time, Dewey enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as reading the Bible, working in his garage, gardening, building bird houses, and fixing bikes for the children in his neighborhood. Dewey also has fond memories of taking vacations to the cabin in St. Helen, and camping trips to Mackinaw City. He was a kind, generous, and patient man who will be missed dearly by his loved ones. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol; his four children: Wesley Beehn, Cynthia (Dean) Totten, Steven Beehn, and Tammy Childers; three grandchildren: Scott Wangler, Carrie Grant, and Tess Borst; two great-grandchildren: Malachi Grant and Sadie Hargis; and siblings: Philip Beehn, Patricia Howard, and Mona Kimball. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Onalee and Darlene; and brothers Bill and Martin.
