Age 91, of Clio died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at Cranberry Park Memorial Care in Clio. The funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Delores’ family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday to receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church in Mt. Morris. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Delores “Bettie” was born June 21, 1923, in Chaffee Missouri, the daughter Mr. & Mrs. Charles Henry and Mattie Maude (Shaw) French. She married her high school sweetheart, Arnold Carrier in 1946 in Mt. Morris; sadly, after 35 years in marriage he preceded her in death in 1981. She would later meet and marry Gordon Mottashed; sadly he too preceded her in death. Bettie worked for General Motors for a short time during World War II; she would later work as Secretary for the Mt. Morris Junior High School and a Secretary for the First United Baptist Church in Mt. Morris for many years. Bettie loved spending time with her family and friends, crafting; including crochet, embroidery, sewing, and quilting. She enjoyed singing solos, singing in the church choir and in the Mary Jackson Singers,, and in the church choir, bowling and playing golf, spending time at her cabin on Wiggins Lake in Gladwin and vacationing in Holiday, Florida and Simcoe, Ontario Canada. Left to cherish her memory are, three sons: Gary Carrier, Gregg (Rachel) Carrier, Gordon (Robin) Carrier; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Arnold Carrier, second husband Gordon Mottashed, six sisters and one brother. Bettie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Cranberry Park Memorial Care for all their love and care.
