Delfina Solis

Age 90, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, August 3, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00am, Friday, August 9, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Delfina’s family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am until 8:00pm on Thursday, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. On Thursday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather together for a Rosary at 7:00 pm. On Friday morning, Delfina will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Delfina was born on November 27, 1933, in Raymondville, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Celestino and Maria (Chamberlein) Rodriguez. She met and married the love of her life, Rodrigo “Roy” Solis, Sr. on May 10, 1950. Their union was blessed with seven wonderful children. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 2012. Delfina enjoyed spending time with her family. Every year, at Christmas, she would travel to Texas to spend the holiday with her family. Delfina enjoyed many crafts, especially making quilts and baby blankets for everyone she knew who had a baby. Sewing and crocheting were her specialty. When she wasn’t making a blanket, she would often be found in her yard tending to her beautiful flowers. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Spanish soap operas and Spanish music shows. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish Delfina’s memory are her children: Sylvia and husband, Tony Fierros, Rodrigo, Jr. and wife, Elia Solis, Juan and wife, Gretchen Solis, Enrique Solis, and Daniel Solis; 11 loving grandchildren; 18 loving great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Delfina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodrigo “Roy” Solis, Sr; sons: Celestino and Agipito; her parents and her siblings.
