Of Mt. Morris, age 64, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Burial will follow in Mt. Morris Cemetery. DavidAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm until 5:00pm, 7:00pm until 9:00pm and again on Monday from 10:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice Care Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. David was born February 12, 1944 in Nashville, Tennesee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford and Kathleen (Fielding) Thomas. He and Bonita Rae Burkel were united in marriage on ValentineAaas Day, February 14, 2003. David worked for General Motors, then later worked for Kroger Dairy and most recently worked for Country Fresh Dairy as a Quality Control Supervisor. He was a very easy going man, who got along with everyone and especially loved being around his family. David leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Bonita "Bonnie," children, Gregory Thomas, Adam and wife Jennifer Thomas and Sarah Thomas; step children, Andrew and wife Colleen Burton, Tammy and husband Jeremy Chandanais and Kristy Burton; grandchildren, Andrew, Eve, Jordan, Hailey, Mathew and Madison; brothers, Michael and wife Colleen Thomas, Donald Thomas and Steven and wife Lisa Thomas; sisters, Barbara and husband Jack Sting and Donna and husband Jeff Lee and special friends, Thomas and wife Rita McGee. David is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
