Colleen Topolinski

Of Vanderbilt, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 52, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at St. Mary Hospital. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home with cremation to follow. ColleenAaas family will be present to receive friends on Sunday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday from 1:00pm to 9:00pm and Tuesday morning from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the FamilyAaas wishes. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Colleen was born June 7, 1956 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Dorothy (Jakeway) Topolinski. Shortly after graduating from Beecher High School, Colleen would begin a 30 year career in law enforcement. She has worked for several area law-enforcement agencies and graduated from the Police Academy in December of 1990. She retired in 2003 from the Mt. Morris City Police Department and soon after moved up north and cared for her mother. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Dorothy L. Topolinski, her two yellow labs, "her girls," Classy and Fawn, two brothers and a sister; Tim and wife Patty Topolinski, Nancy Topolinski, Steve and wife Cindy Topolinski, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Colleen was preceded in death by her grandmother Lucille (Jakeway) father, John, and two brothers, Mike and John, and neice Jody.
