Age 77, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Maplewoods Manor in Clio. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris at 11:00 am. Pastor Mike Vogt to officiate with cremation to follow. The family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm, and on Wednesday from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Butch’s memory may direct them towards St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Clarence “Butch” Roth was born December 15, 1939, in Mt. Morris to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leslie and Marie (Burnham) Roth. He worked for the Beecher Department of Public Works, retiring in 1989, with 20 years of service. Clarence was a member of several organizations, including the Auto City Eagles Aerie #3485, the Clio Eagles Aerie # 3609, the Hale Eagles Aerie # 4217, and the Moose Lodge in Flushing. Butch enjoyed going hunting and fishing at his cabin in Sand Lake and going bowling. Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters: Tammy Rock, Penny Patterson, Terry Prater, and Kanddy and husband, Richard Brannen; two sisters: Carolyn and husband, Gene Watkins, and Mary and husband, Lawrance Cross; three brothers: Frederick and wife, Shirley Roth, Christopher and wife, Barbara Roth, and Lawrence and wife, Sharon Roth; three sisters-in-law: Janice, Veronica, and Sue Roth; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leroy, Glenn, and Leslie, sisters Donna and Elizabeth, and Son-in-law Michael Rock.
