Charlotte Smith

Charlotte Smith, age 85, of Flint, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Medilodge of Grand Blanc. Funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Esther Irish will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Charlotte was born on January 3, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Walter and Gwendolyn (Bashiour) Whetsler. She worked as a beautician for many years. Charlotte was a part of the Christian ministry with the Genesee County sheriff’s department. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and gardening. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Linda (Cohoon) Pfeiffer, Sherry Cohoon, Kathy (Cohoon) Richie, Deborah (Cohoon) Henry, and Corey Smith; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Smith, and parents.
