Charles Johnston

Age 56, of Clio, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. In accordance with Shawn’s wishes cremation has taken place. The memorial gathering celebrating Shawn’s life will take place 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Shawn was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 25, 1961, the son of Chuck Johnston and Joyce Lucia. Shawn Fought the last 10 years, with health issues on a daily basis. Shawn lived in Flint most of his life. He had a variety of jobs which he worked at Little Ceasars and Huckleberry Junction. He also dabbled in many different fields and trades. Shawn enjoyed, poker, golf, bingo, but most of all riding his Harley. Shawn loved to be around his children and grandchildren. Shawn leaves his daughter and son: Josh (Melissa) Gardner and Krystal (James) Taylor; five grandchildren: Dakota, Noah, Aydin, Blake and Makenna; four sisters: Christy (Al), Deena, Toni, and Nicole (Joshua); two brothers: Michael and Howard (Michelle); and longtime partner Evelyn. Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, father, and girlfriend of 25 years, Cynthia Paling mother of Justin Ryan and Amanda Green. A big thank you to Mike Pasheek “Lefty” for being his mentor of almost 6 years of sobriety. The World Definitely won’t be the same without you! XOXO
