Charles Gay

Of Vassar, age 82, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. MaryAaas Medical Center in Saginaw. Per CharlieAaas wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be considered to the Parkinsons Foundation or Vassar Rotary Club. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Charles was born February 13, 1927 in Olyphant, Pennsylvania the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver and Marjorie (Scott) Gay. He and Iris Atkinson were united in marriage December 6, 1947 in Dearborn, Michigan. Charlie practiced optometry in Vassar for over 40 years. He was an active member of the Vassar Rotary, where he never missed a meeting in 50 years. Charlie was a founder and charter member of the Vassar Golf and Country Club. Charlie leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Iris, three children, Susan Wiggins, Deborah and husband Dan Pfeffer, and Daniel Gay, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sister Jane, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Kristine Gay.
