Of Flint, age 95, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Charles was first and foremost a man of God who gave tirelessly of his time, his talents, and his treasure to his family, friends and church. A retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, Charles served his country on active duty during WWII and Korea as an aviation machinist mate. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church in Bremen, GA until his move to the Flint area in 2006. Charles was a member of the Buchanan, GA., Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Willie Lee; two sons, Charles (Marlena) and Larry (Christina); five grandsons, Darren, Aaron, Brett, Jason, Matthew; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan, Dylan, Macalister, Dakota, Josie and Lily. His passing leaves a void in all of our lives. The family requests in lieu of lowers, donations be made to The First Baptist Church Building Fund, 331 Pacific Ave., Bremen, GA. 30110
