Carl “Doug” Douglas Dantzer, age 92, of Flint, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his home. The funeral celebrating Carl’s life will take place 11:00 am, Monday, October 1, 2018, at North End Baptist Church in Mt. Morris. Pastor Ted Stephens will officiate. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park, with graveside military honors to be conducted by the Genesee County Marine Corp. League The family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, on Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. On Monday morning Carl will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Carl was born on April 17, 1926, in Berkley, Michigan, to Mr. & Mrs. Adrian and Mary (Moore) Dantzer. He and Edith Beach were united in marriage, on May 7, 1949. Carl worked over 20 years for General Motors Fisher Body in Grand Blanc until his retirement in 1988. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946. In his free time, he enjoyed: fishing, camping, and working on cars, but his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. Carl was known as someone who would do anything for his neighbor. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife: Edith Dantzer; five children: Wilma and husband, Douglas Storrs, Carl and wife, Laurie Dantzer, Michael and wife, Bonnie Dantzer, Robert and wife, Jan Dantzer, Charles and wife, Lynette Dantzer; daughter-in-law: Claudette Dantzer; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and three siblings: Richard and wife, Deb Dantzer, Helen Bryer, and Alice Klemmer; along with many extended family members. Carl was preceded in death by his son: Gary Dantzer; granddaughter Corrinne Dantzer; great-grandson Brady Dantzer; his parents, and four siblings: Jack Dantzer, Mildred Zettel, Betty Dantzer, and Adrian Dantzer.
