Of Harrison, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 89, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at his home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Mt. Morris Community Church. Pastor Tony Alexander of Gladwin will officiate with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The Knickerbocker family will be present to greet friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, Bruce will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Gladwin or Mt. Morris Community Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.\ \ Bruce was born December 19, 1917 in Genesee Twp. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clare and Zoa (Schaefer) Knickerbocker. Zoa Died shortly after Bruce was born and he was raised by his step mother Fern (Montague). He and Harriet L. Harmon were united in marriage April 16, 1938 in Flint. She preceded him in death March 1, 2001. He was a charter member of Mt. Morris Community Church. He also was a well respected Contractor Builder in the Flint area from 1953 through 1969.\ Bruce was a WWII Army veteran, serving his country proudly. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and reading a variety of literature. He was a loving father, grandfather and a mentor to others.\ \ Left to cherish his memory are three sons; Jerry (Arlene) of Davison, Dennis of Haslett and Lynn (Barbara) of Flint, daughter-in-law, Debbie Knickerbocker of California, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers; Harold and Ronald, sister, Margaret (John) Sparkman, special friend, Dorothy Anderson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.\ \ Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Steven and daughter-in-law, Constance\
