Age 66, of Flint, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019. The funeral service will take place, 12:00 noon, Friday, September 27, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Brenda's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Thursday, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Friday, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 noon. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Brenda was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee, on September 14, 1953, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.D. and Viola (Mealer) Neely. Brenda met and married the love of her life, Homer Kirby, on September 16, 1971, in Flint. Sadly, Homer preceded her in death on September 19, 2010. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved taking care of her family and home. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends - especially her grandchildren, cooking, baking, crocheting, and needlepoint. Brenda also enjoyed listening to country music, woodworking, and fishing. Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Steven and wife, Tamara Kirby, and Homer, Jr. and wife, Camille Kirby; seven grandchildren: Steven, Katelyn, Bridgitte, Hannah, Joseph, Jacob, and Emma; her sister, Janice Bell; two brothers: James and wife, Reba Neely, and David Neely; special friend, Pam Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer, Sr; brother, Charles Ray Neely; and sister, Mary Kelley.
