Bradley "Bubba" Kern, Sr., age 52, of Andrews, Texas, formerly of Mt. Morris died Monday, January 7, 2013, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, Texas. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Brad's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Brad "Bubba" was born July 14, 1960, in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Jean Kern. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1979. Brad was a bus driver for the Mt. Morris School District as well as MDOT for several years before working for Phillips Excavating in Mt. Morris. After his move, Bubba worked for Palmer Tank in Andrews, Texas. He loved to play the Bass guitar for "The Steel Horse Band." He also, loved NASCAR, was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Eagle Riders. Bubba loved to be involved in benefits for people in need, especially veterans. He was a very kind person that was considered a friend and brother too many. Brad is survived by his longtime fiancee, Cindy Folk of Andrews; three sons, Jeremy Brown, Bradley Scott Kern, Jr., and Bradley Scott Kern, II; six grandchildren, Anthony, Brittney, Rachel, Dameon, Nathan and Tristen, one great-granddaughter, Addelana, and many other family members and friends in Mt. Morris and Texas. Brad was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Olsey, and niece, Melissa Aries.
