Betty Wood

Age 86, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will take place 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute Services of Genesee Township. Reverend Dale Lewis will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the North Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Betty was born on November 23, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Stella (Garrett) Wood. She graduated with the class of 1949 from Paragould high school in Arkansas. She worked for K-Mart for 35 years before retiring. Betty enjoyed cooking, crafting, and playing bingo. She lived every day for her family and faith. She will be greatly missed. Betty leaves to cherish her memory her sister: Peggy Joyce Johnson; nieces and nephews: Yalanda and husband Kirk Young, Steven Johnson, James and wife Roxie Wood, Jennifer Riley; great nieces and nephews: James and wife Jessica Potter, Paul Ramoie, Brandon Ramoie, Travis Ramoie, Elizabeth Wood, Lawrence and wife Amy Drake; and great great-niece and nephew, Luke Potter and Lana Potter. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Wood.
