Betty Leach

Of Vassar, age 82, died Thursday, February 11, 2010. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Monday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, and on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Betty was born April 4, 1927 in Vassar, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen and Isabelle (Rogers) Stevens. She and Willard Leach were united in marriage January 21, 1947. She and her husband founded Leach Trucking Company in January 1953, and became co-owners of Halfway Truck Stop with Albert Karr in 1958. In 1973, Leach Trucking moved to its present location in Bridgeport. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carole and husband George Maleck, Linda Leach and husband Tyre Proffer, Glen Leach, Sally and husband Ken Jaynes, Larry and wife Marsha Leach, Dan Leach and wife Martina Killermann; 16 grandchildren; Pamela (Ken) Kelbel, Paul (Linh Truong) Maleck, Anna (Jennifer Mullin) Leach- Proffer, Nathan Leach-Proffer, Todd (Karen) Leach, Troy (Amy) Leach, Amanda Leach, Wendy (Garrick) Owen, Brett (Michelle) Leach, Kyle Jaynes, Katherine Jaynes, Angie (Micah) Kern, Abby (Joshua) Terry, Andrew Leach, Marcus Killermann-Leach, and Julia Killermann-Leach, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna McCollum, Lulu (James) McLaren, Lola Stevens, and Mary (Gerald) Gleason, brothers and sisters-in-law, LaVern Leach, Harold Leach, William Fox, Guy (Mary) Leach, Nancy (Gerald) Major, Jeanette Stevens, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard, great granddaughter Laura Leach, brothers Archie Stevens, Lloyd Stevens, sister Cynthia Mae Drohn, brothers-in-law Wm. "Bud" Pine, Harold Drohn, Robert Stevens, sisters-in-law Pauline Stevens, Dorothy Leach, Clarice Fox, and Dorothy Pine.
