Of Mt. Morris, age 92, died September 25, 2024, at Winter Village in Frankenmuth. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Mt. Morris Community Church. Pastor Aaron Burton to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Betty’s family will be present to receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. On Wednesday morning, Betty will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Mt. Morris Community Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Betty’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.

Betty was born on May 25, 1932, in Claypool, Indiana the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer and Dessie (Groshon) Drudge. Betty met the love of her life, Ron Knickerbocker, and the two were united in marriage on August 8, 1952, in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Betty worked as a secretary at The Highlands until her retirement in 1996. She was also a co-founder of the Mt. Morris Community Church, and spent a lot of time teaching bible school and Sunday school, in addition to volunteering with special events for the children. Betty also enjoyed quilting blankets to donate to the mission and nursing homes, and made baby quilts for showers. In her free time, Betty enjoyed gardening, canning, and attending ladies groups with her church.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her daughter, Janet and husband, Martin Cousineau; four grandchildren: Tyler and wife, Claudia Cousineau, Eric Cousineau, Michelle Graham, and Craig Knickerbocker; nine great-grandchildren: Amanda, Jordan, Brennan, Natalie, Zoren, Emerick, Milo, Hunter and Landon; and three sisters.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; parents; son, Douglas Knickerbocker; grandson, Aaron Cousineau; and grandsons-in-law, Mark Freeman, and Jan Graham.
