June 17, 1953 — December 2, 2009

Of Mt. Morris, age 56, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Monday, December 7, 2009 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with cremation to follow. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 11:00am to 8:00pm, On Sunday afternoon, family, friends, and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 2:00pm, followed by Life Tribute Ceremony, where family and friends will be encouraged to share special stories about Bernie. On Monday morning Bernie will be taken to church by his Farmall M Tractor, where he will lie in state from 10:00am until time of Funeral Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Bernie was born June 17, 1953 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Mildred (Frerich) Martini Sr. He and Kathy Oman were united in marriage on June 27, 1986. He owned and operated Martini Farm in Genesee, as well as worked maintenance for 20 years at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Bernie leaves to cherish his memory, his son John, dearest friend and wife Kathy, twin sister Nadine and husband Michael Gancsos, sisters; Ruth Hanson, Rita Reeve, and Margaret Mishra, Dorothy and husband Richard Griffin, and brother George and wife Shari Martini, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a friend of many, especially Luren and Nina Wager, Kenny Clark, and SamAaas Coney Island Round Table Buddies, and then his beloved dog Bubba, and cat, Miss Kitty. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-laws B.K. Leo, and Curt.
