Benjamin Treat Jr.

Age 87, of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Wellspring Lutheran Services of Frankenmuth. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 19, 2017, 1:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Vic Diberardino to officiate with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 18, 2017, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Benjamin’s memory may direct them towards the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mr. Treat was born August 14, 1929, in Flint to the late Benjamin Sr. and Lillian (Herbert) Treat. He and Alma Treva Barr were united in marriage on January 21, 1949. The couple enjoyed 67 wonderful years together. For many years, he was active at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Morris. Benjamin enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling out west, gardening, camping, and reading. He is survived by his wife, Alma Treva (Barr) Treat; daughter: Chris and husband, Ken Crandall; son: Daniel and wife, Barbara Treat; six grandchildren: Jeremy Nichols, Amanda Treat, Melissa and husband, Andy Wilson, Kim Crandall, Ken Crandall Jr., Krystal and husband, Tony Tucker; Great grandchildren: Tyler Nichols, Caleb Wilson, Aiden Wilson, Annabelle Wilson, Alex Warczinsky, Brandon Crandall, Kelsey Deihl, Vance Tucker, and Destiny Crandall. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Bendene Treat.
