Beckie Atkinson

Age 62, of Vassar, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at home in Vassar. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Vassar. Pastor Darwin Highlen to officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 11:00 until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Beckie’s memory may direct them towards the family. Beckie was born May 30, 1954 in Caro to the late William Frederick and Iva Louise (Wilson) Summerfield. She married Robert Atkinson. Sadly, he preceded her in death on April 13, 1997. Beckie was a kind woman with a heart of gold who always enjoyed spending time with her family. She also liked playing cards with her friends and family and watching HGTV. Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Corina Reyna and boyfriend, Danny Williams, Ivy and husband, Nathan Hecht, Lillie Summerfield and boyfriend, Vinny Parrish; eight grand children: Rebecca Preston, Thomas Reyna, Robert Reyna, Christopher Preston, Noah Hecht, Samantha Hecht, William Summerfield, and Jenna May Summerfield; stepson, James Atkinson; four step-daughters: Darlene Summerfield, Roseann Richards, Mary Bradley, and Annie Summerfield; two brothers: Rickie Summerfield, and Ronnie Summerfield; special friend/sister, Elsie Robinson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Robert Atikinson.
