Beatrice Mead

Of Clio, age 77, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday from 11:00am to 9:00pm. On Friday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 7:00pm. On Saturday morning, Beatrice will be taken to church where she will lie in state from 10:00am until time of Mass at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be considered to the Krapohl Senior Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Beatrice was born July 7, 1933 in Standish, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and Phoebe (LaBean) Dupuis. She and Neil Mead were united in marriage November 28, 1953 in Flint. She worked at Clio Schools for 25 years in the food service department, where she served as the head cook, and was known by the students as AaA"the cookie ladyAaA. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and volunteering at the Krapohl Senior Center. Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory five children, Michael and wife Karen Mead, Catherine Landon, James and wife Theresa Mead, Neil Mead, and Nancy Flanagin, ten grandchildren, Shawn Iung, Angela Mead, Chris and wife Michelle Landon, Michael Landon, Cory and wife Stacy Landon, Eric and wife Therese Mead, Timothy and wife Tasha Mead, Matthew Mead, Garrett Mead, and Justin Mead, six great-grandchildren, Hope Willis, Jake Landon, Alexa Landon, Emma Landon, Brody Landon, and Liliana Mead, two brothers, Kenneth Dupuis, and Wallace and wife Beverly Dupuis, five sisters, Norma and husband Eldon Haemmerlein, Bernadine and husband Jack McCarthy, Betty Moliterno, Donna Smith, and Thelma Sekelsky, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Neil, brother Andrew "Junior" Dupuis, sister Yvonne Dupuis.
