B. Burns

Of Mt. Morris, age 92, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery with graveside Military Honors. Paul's family will be present at the Martin Funeral Home to receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Thursday, Paul will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church or to St. Mary School. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Paul was born March 19, 1921, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James and Mary Ella (Russell) Burns. He and Mary Serra were united in marriage May 06, 1950, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Flint. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII for 3 years until receiving his honorable discharge on November 22, 1944. Paul worked for A/C Engineering for 25 years until his retirement in 1986. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, photography, golfing, telling stories, Italy, aviation. Left to cherish his memory, wife Mary Burns; three children, Paul (Danita) Burns, Cathy (Rob) Burns-Hubbard and Nancy Burns; five grandchildren, Tony, Kelli, Mandy, Tricia and Gabrielle; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, D'Anthony, Naomi, Isabeth, Landon, Mason, Gage and Johnathon; and many other family members and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ed and his sister Mary Frances.
