Arthur Lowell

Of Clio age 92, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at home. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Larry Nelson will officiate. Cremation will follow and private burial will be scheduled at a later date in Flint Memorial Park, with graveside Military Honors. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday from 12:00noon to 8:00pm, and Friday, from 1:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm. Arthur was born September 30, 1917 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Mamie (Warren) Lowell. He and Estella M. Morse were united in marriage July 24, 1937, in Flint, Michigan. Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was an active member of the American Legion # 158. He worked for General Motors for 38 years. He was an Original 1936-1937 Sit Down Striker, and a proud member of the UAW Local # 659. He was an avid woodcarver, and fisherman, he has followed the advancement of aviation, since his childhood, he loved to fly and was a dedicated family man. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Jeanine and husband Roger Zimmer, four sons, Arthur Lowell, Allan and wife Linda Lowell, Donald Lowell, and Randall and wife Amy Lowell, 21 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren,12 great-great grandchildren, two brothers, Harold and wife Betty Lowell and Walter Lowell, and sister Ethel Sloma, and many nieces and nephews, and his beloved black lab, Tar Baby. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Estella, granddaughter, Lisa Lowell, and six brothers.
