ARNOLD W.aCHIPa REINERT\ \ Chip entered eternal life at his home in Vassar surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the age of 59. Chip was born June 6, 1947 in Saginaw. He graduated from Reese High School, the class of 1965. He and Barbara Petty were united in marriage April 27, 1968 in Vassar. Chip was a skilled trades pipe fitter for Delphi for 37 years and currently a bus driver for the Vassar Public Schools. He served as a US Army Reserve Sergeant as Military Police and as a Vassar Police Officer Reserve. Chip held numerous positions at St. Michaelas Lutheran Church in Richville, the latest as treasurer. He also was the owner and operator of Stoney Creek Whitetail Deer Farm.\ \ Surviving are his wife of 38 years Barbara; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Vernon Southmayd of Saginaw; Cindi and Tom Wilinski of Vassar. Chip was blessed with four precious grandchildren who called him "Bumpaa; Miranda Bea and Makenzie Marie Wilinski; Luke Albert and Rachel Irene Southmayd; special dog Buddy; two Brothers; Art and wife Wanda Reinert of Vassar, Norm Reinert of Saginaw; one sister Leona and Glenn Doud of Richville; mother-in-law Irene Sova of Vassar; sister-in-law Sandy and Walt Keyes of Vassar, brother-in-law Dick Petty of Vassar; several wonderful nieces and nephews; special friends Shirley and Larry Putman and their family, many friends and neighbors.\ \ Chip was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Reinert, sisters-in-law Carolyn and Cathy Reinert, niece Jackie Reinert, in-laws Albert Sova, Allen and Frieda Petty.\ \ Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday January 16, 2007 at St. Michaelas Lutheran Church in Richville with Rev. Wes Gillaspie and Pastor Robert Gadeken officiating. Burial will be at St. Michaelas Cemetery with Military Honors by the Richville American Legion Post #400. Family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar 1-8 pm Monday with a special memorial service at 7:00pm. On Tuesday Chip will be taken to church where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring, may consider memorial contributions to St. Michaelas Lutheran Church General fund or the American Cancer Association. \ \
