Alverna Hallman

Of Standish, age 90, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Brian's House Hospice. The funeral service will take place 10:00 am, Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Larry Nelson will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, May 1, 2012, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. Alverna was born June 6, 1921, in Atlanta, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Verneata (Finkbeiner) Hall. She and Victor "Vic" Hallman were united in marriage April 29, 1939. Alverna loved to have company and play cards. Left to cherish her memory are children, Victor, Jr. and wife, Cecelia Hallman, Patricia Kapanowski, Harry and wife, Carol Hallman, Robert and wife, Kelly Hallman, Michael and wife, Marilyn Hallman, and Bill and wife, Sandy Ruszkowski; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and cousins, Amey and Sutton families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 73 years, Victor "Vic" Hallman; brother, Floyd Hall; and one great-grandaughter, Allison Huff.
