Alice "Marlene" Mckinstry

Age 82, of Mt. Morris, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Friday, September 29, 2017, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Friday from 9:00 am until time of service. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Alice was born June 17, 1935, in Caro, Michigan the daughter of Wilbert and Susan (Nutt) Nixon. She and John McKinstry were united in marriage on May 25, 1953, sadly he preceded her in death on June 8, 1990. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gambling and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are children: Linda (Dennis) Alpin, Alan (Sherry) McKinstry, Debby Pratt, Michael (Stephanie) McKinstry, and Jeffery (Ila) McKinstry; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters: Janice (Hoover) Walker and Beverly (Charlie) Pendagrass; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.
