Alice was born in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, on January 5, 1929, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Maude (Smith) Brown. Educated in Pennsylvania, Alice graduated from Philipsburg High School with the Class of 1947. She met and married the love of her life, William Davis, on December 27, 1949, in Syracuse, New York. Sadly, he preceded her in death on January 26, 2015. Alice worked for the Petit Company in Clio until her retirement in 1980. From there, she took up embroidering and was famous for her pillowcases. Alice was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. She was very active in the church, teaching Sunday school and being on the altar committee. Alice was an avid reader of Christian-based fiction as well as how-to books. Alice was very involved with the American Legion, in Clio, and was the past president of the auxiliary. With her husband and children in tow, Alice loved to go camping all over Michigan and visited every lighthouse she could find. Flower gardening was one of her favorite hobbies. She kept up all the flower beds on the deck at Gross Assisted Living for the last six years. She also was amazing at baking loaves of bread, rolls, and cakes. Alice was a people person and was very social. She loved everybody. She was a wonderful mother, and all of her nieces and nephews adored her as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to spend time with all of the little kids and will be greatly missed.
Alice's family would like to extend their sincerest thank you to the past and present staff at Gross Assisted Living for the excellent care they took of their precious mother.
