Alan Ray Webber was born on August 27, 1945, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Elsie (Morrison) Webber. Educated locally, Alan attended from Beecher High School. Alongside school, Alan worked as a chef, crafting many delicious dishes. Shortly after high school, Alan heeded his call of duty, enlisting in the United States Army on April 14, 1967. He proudly served as a Kitchen Supervisor until November 13, 1969, when he earned his honorable discharge. During his time in service, Specialist Webber earned a National Defense Service Medal, as well as Marksman Qualifications for M-14 and M-16, and a Purple Heart. Upon returning to civilian life, Alan would return to work as a chef for a short period of time. Alan would later begin working as a lineman for General Motors for nearly 30 years until his retirement on March 1, 2004.
Alan met and married the love of his life, Shawnette Weiser on July 6, 2002 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio, Michigan. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. In his free time, Alan enjoyed fishing at Buell Lake, playing card games, and watching classic Western films. He was also a master in the kitchen and would often create delectable dishes, such as pork chop spaghetti and vegetable soup.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 22 years: Shawnette; his son: Michael and wife, Michele Webber; his daughter: Heidi Wenzlick; his six grandchildren: Ashley, Crystal and husband, Chris Wendell, Dakota, Summer, Michaela, Nithaniel; his four great-grandchildren: Galwyn, Lucas, Max, Lily; his two brothers: Barry and wife, Barb Webber, Bryan Webber and partner, Suzie Beauchamp; as well as many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and his furry companion: Caesar.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Mark Webber; and his sister: Beth Hawkins.
