POFF, Aaron E.\ \ Of Flint, age 79, went home to be with The Lord on Monday, August 28, 2006, at the Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Aaronas funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Warren will officiate. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park with Graveside Military Honors conducted by the American Legion post 158 Clio. Aaronas family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the St. Judeas Children Hospital or the Salvation Army. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.\ \ Aaron was born May 11, 1927, in Limestone County, Alabama, the middle child of Mr. and Mrs. Percy and Bertha (Buchanan) Poff. As a young man he served in the US Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge, he and Billie Buhler would be united in marriage July 31, 1948, in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Shortly after his marriage he moved to Michigan and began a career with GM, working at Buick as a Millwright retiring in 1980. During that time he was a member of Buick Local #599. For more than 40 years, Aaron has been a member of the Hopewell General Baptist Church serving in many capacities, including Deacon. His caring, loving and supportive nature will be missed by all.\ \ Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Billie, three children, Annette and husband Keith Scott of Clio, Anthony Poff of Flint, Pamela and husband David Renico of Clio/Gladwin, four grandchildren, Kimberly and husband Donald Lobdell of Clio, Kristopher and wife Carrie Scott of Clio, Hather and husband Carl Knight of Clio, Jeremy and wife Jillian Brookins of Mt. Morris, 10 great-grandchildren, Madeline, Samantha, Bailey, Hunter, Owen, Emma, Suzy, Ethan, Logan and LeAnn, and many friends.\ \
