Obituary of Harriette Jean Karn

Harriette Jean (Darling) Karn, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018. Harriette was born on November 22, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cary and Katheryn (Bechtel) Darling. Harriette lived in Jackson, Michigan, where she met and married her “Jimmy D” James D. Karn on July 6, 1946. Harriette follows her husband in death by eight days. The closeness they had in life, 71 years of marriage, they held in passing. 

 

A private family service was held for Harriette at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Grand Blanc, on Saturday, March 24, 2018. A private family burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Reverence Hospice, or to the Humane Society of Genesee County. 

 

Surviving are her three children: Kathryn Arens of Grand Blanc; Dan E. (Janet) Karn of Florida, and David C. (Jamie) Karn of Grand Blanc; five grandchildren: Mike (Miranda) Arens, Carie (Rich) Pace, James (Asia) Karn, Kelly (Randy) Kilbreath, and Lindsay (Michael) Misch; and twelve great-grandchildren: Mitchell, Morgan, Brooke, Sydney, Ella, Grace, Colton, Jack, Matt, Parker, Lainey, and Pierson. In her free time, Harriette enjoyed attending Grande Club, Club Tuesday, and Bridge Club. Harriette was truly the matriarch of the Karn family.
