Obituary of V. Carol Goodroe
Age 78, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint surrounded by her family. The funeral celebrating Carol’s life will take place at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Carol was born November 17, 1939, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester and Vivian (Belcher) Kughn. She married the love of her life, James Goodroe on January 25, 1958. Carol graduated from Sterling High School in 1957. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and taught Special Education swim classes. In her free time, she enjoyed playing games on the computer, photography, crocheting, painting, and playing the organ. Carol will be greatly missed by many.
Left to cherish her memory is the husband of 59 years, James; one daughter: Kellie Goodroe; one brother: David (Linda) Kughn; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Kevin Goodroe, and grandparents Lester and Lucy Kughn.
