Richard “Moose” Charles Schermerhorn Jr.
Age 63, of Flint, died Monday, October 9, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. A funeral celebrating Richard’s life will take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 12:30 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Larry Nelson to officiate with burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Richard was born July 29, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Richard Sr. and Della Mae (Stout) Schermerhorn. He graduated from Kersley High School. Richard was self-employed working as a truck driver. He and Lisa were united in marriage on February 17, 2007, in Flint, Michigan. In his free time, Richard enjoyed, Spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing darts and belonged to a Dart Association. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Lisa Brown; four children: Richard Schermerhorn III, Heidi (Chris) Herbert, Samantha Schermerhorn and Tyler (Anthony) White; 12 grandchildren: Ayla, Shelby, Antonyo, Savhanna, Adam, Kathryn, Christian, Mason, Kennedy, Alyssa, Meadow and Shylo; 11 brothers and sisters: Joyce (Bug) Powell, Pat (Yaughn) Deardoff, Debbie Pattee, Sandy (Jim) Gilbert, Judy (Rick) Sidam, Randy (Janet) Schermerhorn, Robert (Paula) Schermerhorn, Tammie (Mike) Miller, Ruth (Terry) Green, Charlie (Krista) Webb and John (Christina) Barnett; and special friends: Penny Ashby, Frank Neilson and Patty Webster.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Della Mae, two daughters Lisa and Christina, brother Kenneth and three brothers-in-law.
