Obituary of Dorothy Helena Bowen
Age 91, of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Mt. Morris at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 7, 2017. Pastor Larry Kluck will be officiating with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Friends can gather at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born December 21, 1925, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Albert and Zora (Tuttle) Clossen. She and Keith were united in marriage in 1948. Sadly, he preceded her in death on November 16, 1979. Dorothy Graduated from Beecher High School with the class of 1944. She worked for A.C. Spark Plug in Flint for nine years before staying home with her family. Dorothy was devoted to her family and country. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo with her granddaughter, going to the casino, and playing cards every Friday with family on “party Friday.”
She is survived by her five children: Linda (Bob) Cassiday, Sharon Greenman, Theresa (Bob) Bowen, Deborah (Ted) Bristol and Lorena (Greg) Leiber; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special niece: Shirley Brode; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, grandson, Robert Bowen Jr., parents, and brother, Herbie Clossen.
