Obituary of Stella Eileen Lasley

Age 81, of Flint, died Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Stella’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm; on Saturday, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Greater Michigan Chapter, Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Stella was born May 26, 1935, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Fern (Taber) Slocum. She married Robert Lasley on November 28, 1953, in Flint. Sadly, he preceded her in death November 21, 2005. She was owner/operator of Lasley’s Trucking for eight years. In her free time, Stella enjoyed camping with her family, playing card games, bingo, going to the casino, and word search puzzles. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rocky (Ruth) Lasley, Robert Lasley, Veronica (Roger) Husocki, Valemaria Blankenship, and Donald Lasley; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, two brothers Gene Taber, and Bill Slocum, and her sister ValDonna Hylton.
