Obituary of Gene Harrington

Gene "Geno" Harrington, age 38, of Burton formerly of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016. The funeral service will be held 5:00 pm, Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Geno’s family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm; with cremation to follow. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Geno was born February 16, 1978, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Gene and Sandra (Halm) Harrington. He graduated from EAJ High School in Mt. Morris with the class of 1997. Geno was known for his love of sports throughout high school, participating in football, baseball and wrestling. After graduating, Geno would continue his love for sports by coaching youth football, baseball and wrestling for Bentley, Kearsley, and Mt. Morris School Districts. He married Jennifer Brink on October 9, 2010, in Mt. Morris. In his free time, Geno enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his children, spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. Left to cherish his memory, his wife, Jennifer and their children: Caeden, Jace, and Remington; parents: Gene and Sandra Harrington; sister, Amy and husband Jason Langford; brother-in-law, Thomas “TJ” Brink, Jr.; nephews: Dakota Harrington, and Justice Langford; and numerous other family member and close friends. Geno was preceded in death by his grandparents.
