Obituary of Sherry Lynne Nabring (Bertelsmeyer)

Age 64, of Vassar, died Monday December 14, 2015, at her home. A funeral service will take place Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 1:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery. Burial to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Sherry’s memory to Camp Nathanael in Hazard, Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery. Sherry was born June 30, 1951, daughter of the late John and Shirley (Howell) Bertelsmeyer. She and Alan Nabring were united in marriage, sadly he preceded her in death. Sherry worked as a secretary for the First Baptist Church of Vassar for many years. Sherry was well known for her passion for genealogy and discovering her family tree and being involved in numerous activities with youth groups in her community. She was an avid reader and writer, and also loved to cook, especially for family gatherings. Sherry enjoyed vacationing at Lake Michigan and Toronto. She will be missed by many. Left to cherish Sherry’s memory are her sisters: Susan Long (Mike), and Shannon Rose (Mike); brother, Scott Bertelsmeyer; nieces and nephews: Jennifer Long, Larissa Partenope (John), Becky Long, Patricia Bertelsmeyer (Mike), Kimberly McLaughlin (John), Michael Bertelsmeyer, and Heather Sherd (Bryan); great nephew, Brandon Bertelsmeyer; great nieces: Savannah Bertelsmeyer and Bridget Colosky; and many close friends.
