Obituary of Danial J. Gosnell

age 54 of Millington died Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at his residence. Danielas family and friends will be present at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00PM, and again from 4:00PM to 7:00PM for your viewing. Daniel will then be taken to Melton-Riddle Funeral Home in Sylva, North Carolina for funeral service, with burial in Parris Cemetery. Memorial donations may be considered to Genesys Hospice or Genesee County Parks and Recreation; envelopes are available at the funeral home. Daniel was born at home March 4, 1951 in Jackson County, North Carolina to the parentas of Mack B. and Willie M.( Biddix) Gosnell. Starting at the age of 11, Daniel began restoring railroad cars, which lead him into a career of restoring museum pieces, antiques, and many other railroad cars throughout the United States. Daniel was a Master Craftsman with Genesee County Parks and Recreation. He was instrumental in restoring, designing, and building of the railroad cars for the Huckleberry Railroad. He also restored the Parker Carousel, Parker Wheel, and many structures, signs, and displays at Crossroads Village. He was an avid rescuer of animals, and was extremely fond of cats. Daniel loved to travel, hike, and mountain climb, and vacationed in some of the most beautiful parks in the United States. Daniel leaves to cherish his memory 4 sisters: Mary Prior, Elaine White, Jean and husband Andrew Ashe, and Yanna Gosnell, 4 brothers: Robert Gosnell, Joe Gosnell, Michael and wife Loretta Gosnell, and James Dequana, many nieces and nephews, companion and friend of 15 years Patricia Manning, and many loyal friends that are too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles, and 2 sisters Muriel, and Effie.
