Thursie Mae Woodfin

Age 93, of Flint, died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at The Regency of Grand Blanc. A private graveside service is scheduled for a later date.

Thursie was born February 28, 1924, in Tallassee, Alabama, the daughter of the late Whit and Melvin (Wilkerson) Hornsby. She graduated from Elmore County High School. She and Luman F. Woodfin were united in marriage on November 14, 1942. Thursie loved to cook and sew, she also enjoyed fishing with her husband and was a dedicated Alabama Crimson Tide’s fan. She loved to go to the casino, play Bingo and try her luck on scratch off tickets. Thursie was a beautiful and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, who will be missed by many.

Left to cherish her memory are children: Larry and wife, Beverly Woodfin, Jennie and husband, Danny Felt, Robbie and husband, Daryl Slinkard, and Terry Woodfin; grandchildren: Kristi, Kerri, Michael, Derek, Dane, Danon, Tonya, Tony, and Shelbi; 15 great-grandchildren; brother: Wayne; sisters: Ruth, Jean, and Jeanette; many nieces, nephews, friends and family in Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Whit and Melvin Wilkerson, husband, Luman Woodfin, son, Gary Woodfin, brothers, J.T, Charles, Armstead, sister, Mavis and her favorite dog Crank.
